Wayne's pursuit of public speaking excellence
has spanned more than three decades. He has watched technologies
evolve from chalk boards and overhead projectors to dynamic multimedia
presentations. He's done it all, and seen it all - the good, the
bad, and the ugly. He brings his passion, experience and expertise
to teaching others how they can do it better - fearlessly, eloquently,
and persuasively - with a little pizzazz and humor!
In 1975, as a member of the Jaycees (a.k.a.
Jr. Chamber of Commerce), Wayne's interest in public speaking took
him into the competitive arena. In 1982 at the U.S. Jaycee Convention
speaking competition, he placed in the top five in the nation. Since
that time, he has trained and coached hundreds of competitors, many
also ranking in the top five at the national level.
Parallel to his involvement in the Jaycees, Wayne pursued
a career with US West (now Qwest Communications) in engineering, data design,
and IT. In 1992, he had the opportunity to combine his expertise in public speaking,
knowledge of multimedia presentation tools and background in technology to sell
a $100 million AM/FM (Automated Mapping Facilities Management) project within
US West.
Wayne was invited to give the first-ever multimedia presentation
at the AM/FM International Conference which was published in The Best of
AM/FM/GIS 1992-1993. He went onto train and coach hundreds of managers and
executives in the art of developing and delivering dynamic professional presentations.
